LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- With a children's choir singing on the step's of Logan's LDS Tabernacle, Cache County and Logan officials announced the new Cache Valley Arts District.

They hope the marketing tool will bring attention to the area's cultural offerings.

The Utah Festival Opera and American West Heritage Center are well known Logan attractions but supporters of the district hope it will provide the same recognition to smaller groups.

The district was made possible in part by a $10,000 grant awarded last year by the Utah Arts Council Creative Initiative.

Banners on Logan's Main Street and a twice annual brochure that will include events from 17 different organizations will be used to spread the word. The district will also advertise in other ways.
