SALT LAKE CITY -- A statewide blitz resulted in nearly 80 DUI-related arrests over the weekend.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, troopers stopped 201 vehicles, issued 51 field sobriety tests and arrested 28 drivers in Salt Lake County alone.
Across the state, a total of 1,422 vehicles were stopped and 79 drivers were arrested.
The UHP blitz began Saturday around 10 p.m. and ran through 2 a.m. Sunday.
