LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- Cache County election officials say more residents are participating in early voting.
County Clerk Jill Zollinger says the number of early ballots cast in midterm elections for 2010 have surpassed 2006 numbers. As of Friday, 2,689 residents had voted, up from 2,133 votes cast early in 2006.
In the 2008 presidential election, 9,467 Cache County residents voted early.
Zollinger tells Logan's Herald Journal that residents appears to like having the option to vote early.
The general election is Tuesday. The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Zollinger says the county will deploy 244 electronic voting machines at polling places. Paper ballots will also be available upon request.
