Gene Kennedy reportingA tip to the DMV leads to a big discovery worth thousands of dollars.

The DMV received a tip that around 9th West 150 South was a stolen trailer with several ATVs inside. When they went to that location, they hit the jackpot.
Lt. Tim Fletcher/DMV Enforcement: "We came out here, looked in the trailer. [There was] $18-thousand worth seized inside the trailer."

Four ATVs were inside the trailer. The DMV says 30-year-old Justin Howser admitted to officers that he stole the off-road vehicles, which were parked outside a residence in West Jordan. Investigators think he basically hooked the trailer to his truck and drove off.
The DMV recovers about 400 to 500 stolen vehicles every year. They say trailer theft is very popular right now. Any devices owners can buy to keep thieves from stealing the property is helpful.

By the way, the DMV found a second trailer, but the enforcement division is still trying to confirm if that was stolen, because several serial numbers were removed.
