CARBON COUNTY -- Two people were killed in crash involving two cars and a semi truck on U.S. Highway 6 Saturday.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, a woman driving west in a PT Cruiser spun off to the right side of the road just east of Wellington around 4:49 p.m. No other vehicles were involved, and she wasn't hurt.
At the same time, the westbound driver of a Ford Escort crossed into the eastbound lanes and sideswiped a semitrailer twice. Both the 46-year-old female driver and the 55-year-old male passenger were killed.
Both victims were from the Salt Lake area. Neither was wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the semi wasn't hurt.
Troopers are enforcing intermittent lane closures in each direction of travel. Traffic delays are expected to last until 8:30 p.m.
