SALT LAKE CITY -- A man charged in a 1994 cold case murder is back in Utah.
Investigators say Jose Levya-Padilla shot and killed Richard Leetham 16 years ago and dumped his body in Little Cottonwood Canyon.
Leetham's truck turned up in Tijuana, Mexico, three months later.
Levya-Padilla has been an inmate of a federal prison in Atlanta after being convicted of aggravated re-entry into the United States. On Friday he was extradited to Utah and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail.
If convicted of murdering Leetham, Levya-Padilla faces a sentence of up to life in a Utah prison.
