(KSL News) -- An American teenager missing in Brazil has been found safe.
Mykensie Martin arrived at a police station in Salvador, holding hands with a local waiter. The coastal town is hundreds of miles away from Brasilia, which is where Martin was reportedly headed. Police aren't sure how she ended up there.
Martin is visiting the country through a foreign student exchange program. Her host family reported her missing when she didn't return home from her LDS church meetings on Sunday.
Her family is relieved that she's been found.
Jake Martin, Brother: "I don't have the words to describe the feelings we have of gratefulness, of just peace, such a burden off your shoulders. When we got that phone call early this morning, wow what a weight, what a relief!"
Police are still investigating exactly what happened to her.
