WASHINGTON, DC -- Doug Wright of KSL-AM Salt Lake City was named Large Market Personality of the Year at the 2010 National Association of Broadcasters' Marconi Radio Awards. The awards were announced Thursday night at the annual NAB Marconi Radio Awards Dinner and Show held during the Radio Show in Washington, D.C.
The prestigious awards recognize radio's outstanding personalities and stations in 21 categories. Marconi finalists were selected by a task force of broadcasters, and the winners were voted on by the NAB Marconi Radio Awards Selection Academy. The votes were tabulated by an independent firm.
The largest part of Wright's nearly 40 years in the broadcast industry have been spent at KSL. For more than 20 years Doug Wright's name has been synonymous with KSL Newsradio. With a professional background distinguished by public service and community involvement, Wright has long been recognized as one of the most trustworthy voices on the airwaves of the Intermountain West.
Wright is a Utah native who began his broadcast career while still a high school student and has been honored with many awards for his professional and community efforts, including induction into the Utah Broadcast Association Hall of Fame.
