SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A federal trial is set to begin Monday for an Illinois man accused in a 2006 pipe bomb explosion at the main Salt Lake City library.

Thomas Zajac faces multiple charges, including carrying a destructive device in relation to a crime of violence, attempted damaging and destroying a building by an explosive, and possession of an unregistered destructive device.

The September 2006 blast knocked out a window at the library and forced 400 people to evacuate. Nobody was injured.

Zajac was arrested at his home in Downers Grove, Ill., a month later. Investigators say Zajac's fingerprint was found on remnants of a rocket igniter at the scene.

U.S. District Judge Clark Waddoups has set aside three weeks for the trial. Jury selection is expected to begin Monday.
