BOX ELDER COUNTY -- A controlled brush fire alarmed dozens of motorists on Interstate 15 near Tremonton Saturday afternoon.

Dispatchers in Box Elder County received numerous calls around 12:30 p.m. from drivers reporting massive amounts of smoke. The fire was burning just off the shoulder of the freeway and appeared to be spreading.

But fire officials say the flames were a result of a controlled burn by a local farmer. The fire got into some weeds, making it appear larger than it actually was.

Fire officials say no one was ever in any real danger.
