Team CoveragePolice evacuated a North Salt Lake neighborhood because someone began firing shots around 3:00 this afternoon. The police department was called to the Woods Colonial Trailer Park in North Salt Lake, just west of the I-15 freeway.

The police surrounded the area for 30 to 40 minutes and took into custody a 22-year-old, Ryan Gillespie, who lives at the trailer home with his mother or grandmother.

Turns out he only had a little CO2 pellet pistol. No one was hurt. One trailer had pellet markings on it.

The grandmother reported that the young man has some mental problems.

The road at 3600 South was closed for about an hour.
