(KSL News) A man is in jail after threatening to kill his girlfriend in Ogden this morning.

KSL Newsradio reports that authorities received a phone call saying John Montour, 47, was keeping his girlfriend captive inside their home.

Ogden police called in the SWAT team to secure the area. Three nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution. The standoff lasted more than three hours, then ended peacefully as Montour was finally taken into custody.

He is being booked on kidnapping, aggravated assault, and a previous felony warrant. All nearby residents were allowed to return home.
