Woman pinned by car at West Valley business

WEST VALLEY CITY -- A woman taking a break at work became pinned by a car early Wednesday morning.

Woman pinned by car at West Valley business

It happened just before 5 a.m. near a loading dock outside Cuban Cigar at 3379 W. 2555 South in West Valley City.

Police say the woman was sitting on the dock. A man parked next to the dock started his car, which was in gear. The vehicle lurched forward, pinning the woman at her knees.

She was flown to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police say this was an unfortunate accident and the driver will not be cited.
