SOUTH SALT LAKE -- Not much is known about the South Salt Lake parents accused of killing their 5-year-old daughter.

"We have no history of calls coming from the address. I believe there was an information call that came from there previously, but nothing else that would have raised an eyebrow," says South Salt Lake Police Chief Chris Snyder.

Emergency crews were called to Angeles Cadillo-Castro and Gerardo Jesus Espindola-Olvera's home Tuesday. When they arrived, they found the 5-year-old girl's heart had stopped. They pronounced her dead at the scene.

Snyder says detectives are now trying to locate any extended family members who could help them in their investigation. He says right now they're talking with the Salt Lake County District Attorney's about how they'll move forward with this case.

"Another aspect of that, obviously, is the results of the medical examiner's investigation," Snyder says.

If you have any information on the girl and her family, contact the South Salt Lake Police Department at 801-840-4000.

Cadillo-Castro and Espindola-Olvera have been booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on charges of felony child abuse.
