SANDY -- A woman is recovering after being stabbed in the back Tuesday evening in Sandy.

Police say the woman had just met her friend to exchange property at a gas station. As she started driving away, the friend started to follow her in her car.

The two started arguing, and the woman tried to flag down a police officer near 200 East and 9000 South. That's when her friend rammed her car.

The two women got out of their vehicles and started fighting. The friend then stabbed the woman in the back, rammed her car again and took off.

The injured woman was taken to the hospital but is expected to be OK. Police are still searching for the suspect.
