WEST VALLEY CITY -- A West Valley City woman jumped from a second-floor window to escape a house fire Sunday evening.

The fire was reported around 8 p.m. at the home near 3700 West and 3200 South. The woman's husband and three young grandchildren escaped through the front door.
Fire Chief John Evans says the two adults were treated for smoke inhalation and minor burns but the children were not hurt.
The flames gutted the home's interior, causing $60,000 to $70,000 in damage. No word on what caused it.
