(KSL News) -- Salt Lake County opened a new library in South Jordan today.
The grand opening started off with a flag raising ceremony by a group of local cub scouts. Jim Cooper, the library director, was pleased to annouce a new system that will make their job a little easier.
Jim Cooper, Library Director: "This new technology, radio frequency identification, will help us expedite that, get the materials out to the public quicker for their enjoyment."
The library also has an automated check in and check out station, just like the ones at the grocery stores.
The event ended with a ribbon cutting ceremony indicating that the library is officially open to the public.
