MOAB, Utah (AP) -- Two people have died after their truck went off a small cliff outside of Moab.

The Utah Highway Patrol says 34-year-old Shelby Limas and 26-year-old Thayn Michael Shumway, both of Moab, died about 3 a.m. Wednesday at the scene of the accident.

Police say the 1986 Chevrolet truck was on state Route 128 when it went off the side of the road and into the Colorado River Gorge, landing upside down.

Limas was thrown clear of the truck. Shumway was found under the vehicle.

Authorities say it is unclear who was driving and whether the men were wearing seat belts. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
