MILLCREEK -- A group of men severely beat another man early Sunday morning at a Millcreek apartment complex.

Lt. Don Hutson with Unified police said a man was out walking his dog around 3 a.m. when he got into a fight with another man in the parking lot of Murray Ridge Apartments near 300 East and 4100 South.

That man called over his friends who were partying in a nearby apartment. Hutson said the group attacked the man.

"There were several people that beat him up with bats, rocks and some sort of edged weapon," he said.

Hutson said the group also used a pipe, and one of the men stabbed the victim with a knife.

The victim, who is in his 20s, dragged himself to a relative's home and went to the hospital in critical condition. His condition has since been updated to serious.

Police followed a trail of blood from the scene of the stabbing to the apartment where the party was going on. Officers found 21 people ranging in age from 16 to 22.

They found several men with bloody clothing and another man hiding in a closet. No arrests have been made, but Hutson said investigators expect to make arrests soon.
