SALT LAKE CITY -- A gas leak forced the evacuation of a dozen homes in a Salt Lake City neighborhood Thursday.
City utility workers were digging in the area of 1500 East and 1100 South just after 10 a.m. when they hit the gas line, causing the leak.
Homes were evacuated and crews set up a one-block perimeter around the leak. Questar workers were then called in to shut off the gas and repair the line.
No injuries were reported, and officials say people should be allowed back in their homes by Thursday afternoon.
