TOOELE, Utah (AP) -- A Tooele man who pleaded guilty to felony attempted murder in the September shooting of his wife at their home has been sentenced to three to 25 years in prison.

Jack Vangrimbergen Jr. was sentenced Tuesday in state court. In December the 45-year-old also pleaded guilty to third-degree felony domestic violence in the presence of a child.
Vangrimbergen's wife was wounded in the face, arm and leg on Sept. 24. The shooting took place in front of the couple's 11-year-old daughter.
A probable cause statement said Vangrimbergen suspected his wife was having an affair.
Vangrimbergen apologized in court, saying sorry was not enough. The victim has had and expects to have many surgeries.
A judge on Tuesday reduced the attempted murder charge from a first-degree to a second-degree felony.
