SPRINGVILLE -- Heavy runoff may be behind a water boil order issued by Springville City Tuesday afternoon.

The boil order is for residents in the Left Hand Fork area of Springville-Hobble Creek Canyon. A test turned up E. coli in the million-gallon water tank that serves residents who live in Left Hand Fork.

Springville operations manager Rod Oldroyd says strong water flows overwhelmed the filtration system and some bacteria slipped through.

Residents should boil water for at least one minute or used bottled water until the order is lifted.
