SALT LAKE CITY -- A family fight ended with gunshots near 1400 West and 800 North in Rose Park.
Police say the family was having a Memorial Day picnic when two men began arguing.
According to the Deseret News, it started when a man and his brother-in-law started fighting, said Salt Lake Police Lt. Mark Scharmer. The first man then pulled out a handgun and fired twice into the air, then once at the other man.
The bullet missed.
Police were called by several people in the park. Officers showed up at the scene with rifles ready, reports the Deseret News.
The shooter was taken into custody and is now being held in the Salt Lake County Jail.
