LAYTON -- Police in Layton have arrested a 31-year-old teacher for having an improper relationship with a high school student.
Jeremy Page Flygare is a teacher at Northridge High School in Layton and was arrested Monday on three counts of rape, stemming from an unlawful sexual relationship with a female student.
According to Davis School District spokesperson Chris Williams, Flygare has been on paid administrative leave since March 29.
Police were alerted to the situation March 31. The Layton Police Department reports it spent the next several weeks conducting interviews and collecting evidence to determine if criminal charges were warranted.
Police have not released information about the student, because she is a juvenile, but officials says since Flygare holds a position of trust the sexual relationship is deemed non-consensual.
