SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Two Utah high school students couldn't have done better on their college boards, scoring perfect marks in the ACT.
BJ Myers and Kendal Gifford both scored 36 on the college-entrance exam this summer, getting the highest possible mark.
"It was awesome. I never thought I would get a perfect score," said Myers, a senior at Woods Cross High School. "I hoped I would do well, but not as well as I did."
Gifford, a senior at Taylorsville High School, took the ACT once before and got a 33.
"I heard when people take it a second time they usually get a higher score, so I figured why not," Gifford said.
ACT spokeswoman Kristin Crouse said there is less than a .01 percent chance of getting perfect marks on the test. Last year only 251 flawless tests scores were reported out of the 2.1 million students who took the ACT. There have been 82 students with perfect scores this year of the 365,000 who tested.
