NEPHI, Utah (AP) -- Authorities say a 57-year-old man has been killed in a rock slide on Topaz Mountain in central Utah.

The Juab County sheriff's office says Kevin Alan Moore, of Orem, and two friends were looking for topaz in the area when the slide happened. The friends said Moore was in a hole digging when a large rock broke loose and fell on top of him before rolling off. The rock was about 5 feet in diameter.

Moore's body was recovered by deputies and rescue workers.
