ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) -- Starting next fall, four St. George high schools will have after-school clubs for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender students and the friends who support them.
The forums have been approved for Desert Hills, Dixie, Pine View and Snow Canyon high schools.
A small group of St. George students launched an effort last year to form Gay-Straight Alliance clubs at every Washington County high school. The American Civil Liberties Union of Utah helped secure programs at the four schools.
Nationally, there are about 4,000 such clubs.
