(KSL News) The message at the 17th annual Utah Gang Conference in Sandy is that mass media strongly influences gang culture.
Gang expert Danny Holland said teens involved in gangs are often desensitized by thousands of violent images in movies, video games and television.
He also said more girls are being sucked into the gang lifestyle.
The Utah Gang Conference is held each year for law enforcement from all over the nation to learn new ways to combat gang violence.
