WEST JORDAN -- A witness testified Thursday that an accused murderer bought a gun from him just days after the crime.
Chris Harmon wanted to sell his gun and placed an ad for it online. He says he sold the gun to accused murder Eugene Wright on Nov. 18, 2007 -- three days after the shooting death of Utah Valley University hockey coach Kenneth Dolezsar.
Wright told Harmon he wanted to replace a similar gun that he had lost. Defense attorneys say that means nothing.
"We'll have evidence later on in the trial to show that the firearm that he's talking about was lost in the preceding summer," said defense attorney Ed Brass.

Prosecutors have charged Wright with Dolezsar's murder and aggravated robbery.
Earlier this week, a witness testified that he saw Wright, who was wearing a pony-tailed wig, shoot Dolezsar outside the Village Inn restaurant in Sandy.
Wednesday, defense attorneys questioned a Sandy police sergeant about an unidentified DNA sample found on the steering wheel of Dolezsar's car.
The defense also brought up David Novak, a con man who spent time in federal prison, as a possible suspect. Novak knew both Wright and the victim.
The jury also heard from a firearms examiner, who concluded that all five casings given to him by police came from the same gun.
The trial is set to run through May 7.
