BOUNTIFUL -- Bountiful police believe they have caught the man who robbed three convenience stores.

Officers say Leonard Bender admitted to robbing two stores in Bountiful and another in Salt Lake. In both the Bountiful cases, he was carrying a large kitchen knife and wearing a paintball mask.

Officers caught up with Bender Tuesday morning while responding to a Sinclair gas station robbery. They saw a vehicle speeding away, stopped it and found Bender inside.

Police also recovered money from the robbery and the mask and knife that were used. During questioning, Bender admitted to all three robberies.

Bender is now in the Davis County Jail.
