WEST JORDAN -- A Salt Lake couple who thought they were doing a good deed instead ended up getting robbed.

Police say the couple had left a movie theater on 9000 South and Redwood Road in West Jordan Saturday night when they were approached by a man asking for a ride.

The couple let him into their car and began driving. A short time later, police say the man pulled a weapon and demanded they take him to an ATM for cash.

The couple cooperated. After the suspect got the cash, he took off from the bank on foot.

Police are still looking for him. The suspect is described as being 6 feet 4 inches tall with a thin build and light-colored hair. Police say he was wearing a dark sweatshirt with a stripe on it at the time of the robbery.

Anyone with any information is asked to give police a call.
