SALT LAKE CITY -- A bronze mermaid statue missing from the International Peace Gardens at 1000 South and 900 West in downtown South Lake City has been found.

The 3-foot replica of the Little Mermaid disappeared in February. An $1,800 reward was offered for its return.

But it turns out, the statue did not even leave the park.

A seasonal worker found it in some bushes in the Italy garden, just across the walkway from where the mermaid is supposed to sit.

The statue is slightly damaged, but can be easily repaired by using the reward money.
