SALT LAKE CITY -- A $1,000 reward may help in the search for a statue stolen from the International Peace Gardens. The bronze mermaid statue was stolen from the Salt Lake City park in February.
According to the Salt Lake Tribune, former state Sen. Fred Fife is leading the effort to raise money for the reward. If the statue is never found, Fife says the money will go to the garden to help pay for improvements.
Anyone who would like to donate to the reward fund can contact Fife at 801-521-7383. If you have any information on who might have taken the statue, you're asked to call Salt Lake City police at 801-799-3000.
