(Salt Lake City- KSL TV) There is now a name and a face to go along with a person of interest in the disappearance of Elizabeth Smart.

The picture of the man appeared on America's Most Wanted web site yesterday.

The man's name is Brian David Mitchell, although he goes by Emmanuel because of his evangelical beliefs.

The Smart family came in contact with him in the fall of 2001 in downtown Salt Lake City. He was panhandling in the area between Crossroads and ZCMI Malls. Mrs. Smart offered him money and a chance to do some work on their house.

Chris Thomas, a Smart family spokesperson, says, "he came up to the house on his own and worked for part of the day. They still owed him money when he was done, and he said he would come back the next day. But they never saw him again."

Apparently, Elizabeth's sister, Mary Catherine, says he resembles the man who kidnapped Elizabeth.

According to officials, Mitchell was identified earlier this week by a woman believed to be his sister.

She says the picture does not resemble the drawing because her brother has grown out his hair.

Mitchell is believed to be traveling with his wife Wanda, somewhere in the Southeast for the winter.
