SALT LAKE CITY -- KSL 5 News has learned a confirmation hearing for Gov. Jon Huntsman has been scheduled for next Thursday.
In May, President Obama nominated Huntsman to be the U.S. Ambassador to China. Since then, Huntsman has kept a low profile is splitting his time between Utah and Washington, where he has attended policy briefings, met with senators and filled out a stack of paperwork.
Assuming Huntsman is confirmed, Lt. Gov. Gary Herbert will succeed him as governor.
