SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman is scheduled to go before the Senate Foreign Relations committee this week for a hearing on his nomination to be the U.S. ambassador to China.
President Barack Obama nominated Huntsman for the post in May.
According to the foreign relations committee Web site, Huntsman is scheduled for a hearing on Thursday in the Dirksen Senate Office Building in Washington.
Assuming Huntsman is confirmed by the U.S. Senate, Lt. Gov. Gary Herbert will be sworn in as Utah's governor.
