SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Gov. Gary Herbert has launched a study group to look at statewide education reform.
Herbert announced the formation of the Education Excellence Commission on Wednesday.
The group is made up of 25 members, including representatives drawn from public and charter schools.
Herbert is the chairman of the commission, which will meet monthly.
He says the group hopes to have significant recommendations ready for the 2011 legislative session.
A meeting is scheduled for April 21 in the Capitol Board Room and is open to the public.
