LEHI -- Metal workers are finishing up repair work on the now famous St. Ambrose statue Wednesday.

Kevin Maag with the Metal Arts Foundry in Lehi invited KSL to watch him make the finishing touches to the 800-pound statue.

The Foundry first created the statue years ago and offered to do the repairs for free this week.

The statue was stolen from the St. Ambrose Church a few weeks ago. When police recovered it, it had graffiti and was damaged from being dragged off its pedestal.

Maag tells us he hopes to re-install the statue early next week.
