OGDEN -- A woman charged as a co-defendant in the murder of a Roy woman and her adult son has taken a plea deal.
Miranda Statler had faced five felony charges in the November deaths of Pamela Knight Jeffries, 56, and Matthew Roddy, 30.
Prosecutors say Statler's ex-boyfriend, Jeremy Valdes, killed both mother and son Nov. 25 after they told police Valdes and Statler may have taken prescription drugs from their home. Valdes and Statler had been guests there.
Their bodies were discovered Nov. 30 in a closet at the home.
Statler originally was charged with obstruction of justice, auto theft, two counts of abuse of a corpse and unlawful possession of a credit card.
The Standard-Examiner reports Statler has pleaded guilty to the most serious charge -- obstruction of justice -- and will be sentenced in 2nd District Court on April 26.
Valdes is charged with two counts of aggravated murder and could face the death penalty. Statler testified against him in a preliminary hearing on March 10.
