(KSL News) A driver fell asleep at the wheel this morning, slamming his car into a concrete barrier.
The man was headed west on I-215 near Union Park when he fell asleep. He went off the road and hit the barrier. He then woke up and over corrected, causing the car to spin and crash.
"It's important to make sure that if you are tired or drowsy that you pull off to the side of the road or get to a rest area as soon as possible," said Sgt. Keith Dockstader of the Utah Highway Patrol. "It can be as dangerous as driving intoxicated."
The man was wearing his seat belt and only suffered minor injuries.
