FARMINGTON, Utah (AP) -- The Utah State Courts system is accepting applications to fill two judicial vacancies on the 2nd District Court.
The new judges will replace retiring judges Jon Memmott and L. Kent Bachman. The 2nd District serves Davis, Morgan and Weber counties.
Eligible applicants must be at least 25, a U.S. citizen, a Utah resident for at least three years and an attorney admitted to practice law in Utah. Applications are being accepted through April 15.
The Judicial Nomination Commission will submit five nominees for each vacancy to Gov. Gary Herbert for consideration. The commission must make the nominations within 45 days of its first meeting. The governor then has 30 days to make his selections.
The Utah State Senate must confirm Herbert's selections.
