(KSL News) Crews rescued two college students after one of them got hurt while hiking up Rock Canyon in Provo this evening.

Shortly after 7 p.m. police got a call that a woman had fallen while hiking. She was about three-quarters of the way up the canyon when she apparently slipped and hurt her back.

A helicopter located the injured woman and her companion. Hikers went up the mountain to help bring her down.

Officials do not believe the injuries are serious.

We spoke to someone who was up the canyon at the time. She says well over two dozen people were there enjoying the evening when officials evacuated the area to make sure the two people made it down safely.
