HOOPER, Weber County — A fire Thursday night caused extensive damage to a Hooper home, though no injuries, the Weber Fire District said.
The blaze was called in around 8:15 p.m. on Thursday and several fire agencies responded.
"Crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the garage. Firefighters initiated a quick fire attack. However, the fire extended into the home, causing significant structural damage," the first district said. Fire officials estimated the damage at around $650,000 and said the district's Fire Marshal's office is now investigating.
The homeowners safely evacuated the home, and fire crews rescued multiple cats and some "sentimental items." Officials didn't report a cause or suspected cause.
