OGDEN — A Weber County employee who is seen yelling and swearing at a family at a Cache County campsite in a video recorded over Memorial Day weekend has been fired, officials said Friday.
Wyatt Pack has been terminated as of Friday, Weber County officials said on Facebook.
Pack was seen in a video that surfaced Sunday yelling at a family at a campsite in Blacksmith Fork Canyon, east of Hyrum in Cache County, according to Cache County Sheriff Chad Jensen.

In the video, Pack also demanded the family pay him $40 to move their trailer. Pack thought he had already reserved the campsite, which was located about an hour’s drive up the canyon, and he asked the family to move their trailer, according to Jensen.
In the video, the family tells Pack there is a problem with the power steering on their truck, preventing them from moving their equipment out of the site.
In the video, Pack says he's employed with Weber County before telling the family that power steering shouldn’t be causing the problem. He also asks the family to “use some muscle” to move their truck.
The video shows Pack continuing to demand that the family move their truck.
“I don’t care if you’re just out on the road, that’s really not my problem anymore,” Pack says to the family.
The video had been viewed more than 94,000 times as of Friday afternoon.
Pack was a member of the roads crew for Weber County, and he started working with that department in October, according to Weber County Human Resources spokeswoman Sarah Swan.
Jensen said his office had investigated the altercation and referred the findings to the Cache County Attorney’s Office. That office was still deciding whether or not to pursue any charges against Pack, Jensen said.
In a separate statement posted to Facebook on Wednesday, Weber County officials said they were “sickened and outraged” by the video.
“This type of behavior is completely unacceptable and does not reflect the helpful, kind, customer service attitude we expect of Weber County employees,” officials said.
Pack was placed on administrative leave, and the county’s human resources department began conducting an investigation, Weber County officials said.
The investigation found that Pack was in direct violation of the county’s policies, including a policy that prohibits county employees from using offensive language toward the public, officials said.
Weber County policy also prohibits employees from engaging in acts that are contrary to public service, as well as acts that would damage the reputation or image of the county, officials said.
“In Weber County, we value doing the right thing and being a positive part of the community,” officials said. “We recognize that a majority of our employees work hard to make our community the best place to live, work, and play.”
Jensen urged people to be decent to each other and treat others with respect, especially on public lands as the summer season begins.
“Nobody should be treated the way these people were treated,” he said.
