SALT LAKE CITY — Two separate incidents caused damage at Salt Lake City International Airport on Friday.
Crews responded to a hazmat situation at the Salt Lake City International Airport just before 5 p.m.
A 130-gallon spill of Sonical 2170 VC, a roofing adhesive, took place on the airport construction site, airport officials said on Twitter. A contractor working on the site spilled the chemical in a contained area, officials said.
Crews worked to remove the chemical from the site.
The spill was not near concourses or terminals, and did not impact flights or other operations at the airport, officials said. No airport workers had been affected by the spill.

Later on Friday, a UPS truck went through the passenger pick up area near Terminal One and caused damage to the pedestrian skybridge.
The crash took place at about 6:45 p.m., according to airport spokeswoman Nancy Volmer. The vehicle was too tall to make it under the bridge.
The crash caused about $25,000 in damage to the skybridge and crews had to let air out of the tires in order to get the truck out from under the bridge, Volmer said.
