Donating to hurricane victims

Charri J.

“I am a teacher at Corner Canyon High School and our school has “adopted” Kingwood High School in Houston, Texas. Kingwood was destroyed by Hurricane Harvey and we have reached out to them in hopes of helping them get up and running normal again. Not only have we had many fundraisers, (Waffle Love, Fill the Bucket, Flag Football Tournaments), we plan on having many more, making this a yearlong endeavor. We are in the middle of a clothing drive.

“Many of the students have lost everything and they are in need of cold weather clothing so we started a clothing drive that consist of class competitions, professional points, etc. … Most people think that teenagers are not respectful and do not care, but if you watched these kids in action, you would know this is not always the truth.”

Making an impact

Marlie M.

“Student government at Provo High School collected over 71,000 cans of food for their food drive. Biggest donation the food bank has received to date. This is the last class graduating from the old building and they wanted to make an impact.”

Raising money for those in need

Roger B.

“Hannah, 8, and Mady, 5, have already raised more than $200 to buy gifts to take to Candy Cane Corner, a free 'store' for people at The Road Home, Volunteers of America, and the YMCA/YWCA, to pick out Christmas gifts.”
