WEST WEBER, Weber County — Police believe alcohol played a part in a rollover crash that killed a 32-year-old female passenger Tuesday afternoon.

According to Weber County Sheriff's Sgt. Matt Jensen, the accident near 4400 West and 1150 South in West Weber at about 3:45 p.m. followed a reported hit-and-run less than five minutes earlier in Marriott-Slaterville at 1900 West and 12th Street.

Crews pronounced the woman dead at the scene. A helicopter flew the 33-year-old driver to the hospital in critical condition, Jensen said.

No injuries were reported in the first accident.

The Weber County Sheriff's Office has not released the names of the victims.

Jensen said detectives believe the two crashes are related. An investigation was ongoing.
