SALT LAKE CITY — Wildfires continued to burn throughout Utah this week as the dry, hot weather intensified, and Utahns submitted photos of the news they saw happening around the state.

KSL.com readers sent in several photos of the large clouds of smoke caused by a 1,000-acre fire near Brian Head. More than 700 people have been evacuated because of the fire, and Gov. Gary Herbert said today that it was caused by a "weed torch."

In other parts of the state, Pleasant Grove residents celebrated at the annual "Strawberry Days" festival and a sinkhole opened up in a Bountiful neighborhood.
