WEST VALLEY CITY — A family of seven lost at least part of their home to a fire Tuesday evening.
Crews were battling the blaze about 7 p.m., the West Valley City Fire Department said on Twitter. Flames overtook a rear room in the single-story house, according to photos taken from behind the backyard and provided by the fire department.
The Utah Red Cross said it was providing help to a family of four adults and three children.

No other details were available Tuesday, and a message left with West Valley fire officials was not immediately returned.
