SANDY — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who robbed a bank at gunpoint Tuesday morning.
Sandy Police Sgt. Jason Nielsen said the man entered a Zions Bank located at 7620 S. Union Park Ave. just before 10:15 a.m. Almost immediately, the man pulled out a pistol, approached a teller and demanded money.
The man received an undisclosed amount of money before leaving the bank and then got into a green Honda Accord or Civic, Nielsen said. Witnesses were able to give police a partial license plate of “X57.”
The man is described as a white male in his mid-30s. He was wearing a mask covering his face and a gray hoodie with the hood pulled up.
